Tix•R•Us is a local Oregon online ticketing agency. They needed administration documentation to support their software. Wordsworth & More used a single source help authoring tool to develop the Help system, and the printed material in PDF format.
Tix•R•Us is a local Oregon online ticketing agency. They needed administration documentation in written and online format to support the users of their software. Wordsworth & More used a single source help authoring tool to create the printed material and develop the Help system.
Wordsworth & More developed several help systems for a real estate application in the early 90’s. The First Aid help system explained to users how to use the specialized help system for the real estate product.
Wordsworth & More was contracted by the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) to create documentation and a context sensitive help system for a crew management application called MariTime™ which was being developed for their fleet of vessels.

Wordsworth worked closely with the developer and CCG staff to deliver the required material. Wordsworth then contracted to convert the documentation (manual and help systems) into French. Because the translators were not familiar with the tools Wordsworth used to develop the documentation, Wordsworth developed a process by which the English version of the printed and help system content was exported for translation by language specialists. The completed translation was then imported back into the development tools and the French laguage version of the files was generated.
The users of the MariTime™ Software system were sailors and not experienced data processing/computer users. Wordsworth & More needed to develop a method to guide the users through the use of the software. The guide we created was a system of Step Cards®. The Step Card® would remain ontop of the screen to guide the users through important application activites on a step-by-step basis.
Realty Expert™ was a software program for real estate sales people. The software developer needed to have a context sensitive help system, user reference manual and quick reference guide developed. Wordsworth & More worked closely with the developer to help him achieve his goal. The developer determined that the help system and manuals saved him 50% of his staff’s time in training and support calls.
